1st Baltic Sea Convention

Location: Visby, Gotland (Sweden)
Period: 24-29 June 2007
Deadline: -

Guidelines

"Connecting"
Within the European Union, across country borders, the regions become more and more important. To gather key persons from different fields of operations and thus create new networks is one of the main tasks of the convention.

"Growing together"
Without investments and long-term development of trade and labour market there are no resources for increased social welfare, culture, education and
sustainable technical development.
The tasks regarding common growth and common progress aim at the joint possibilities to create prosperous domestic markets within the region. An increased movement of competence, goods and services within the region strengthens the competitiveness of the region.

"Sustainable development"
The Baltic Sea is our common sea and our common responsibility. A better coordination of environmental efforts between all our countries is essential to maintain the Baltic Sea as a living sea. The contributions depend on coordination between agriculture, trade, shipping, tourism, technical development and political decisions on international, national, regional and local level.
