The Master in Advanced European and International Studies - trilingual branch aims at giving students an overarching, encompassing vision of the political, social, economic, and cultural challenges of today’s world. The Master’s programme follows an original approach which distinguishes it from other Master’s courses in European Studies and International Relations: The MAEIS is an international, interdisciplinary and itinerant programme. Following the slogan “Learning and living Europe”, the participants rotate each trimester, moving their place of studies from Nice to Canterbury and then to Berlin.
The trilingual branch of the Master in Advanced European and International Studies it taught in three different languages: French, English, and German. The programme is subdivided into three study terms followed by three months dedicated to the writing of the Master’s thesis and an internship (3 months minimum).

Overview of the year:
The programme starts off in Nice and encompasses introductory classes to all of the five modules (International Relations, European Integration, Economy and Globalisation, Federalism and Governance, and Professional Skills), completed by international conferences and seminars dealing with current world politics events.

During the second term in Canterbury, students choose three courses among the curriculum proposed by the School of Politics and International Relations of the University, in line with their specialisation. At the end of the term, students write an essay for each of the three courses. A one-week study trip to the European and international organisations in Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg is organised during this period.
During the third term in Berlin, the programme aims at deepening the students’ knowledge of European integration and contemporary problems in international relations.  Moreover, one of the workshops takes place at the University of Rostock.

From July to the end of September, students will write a substantial Master’s thesis based on original research work.

From October onwards, students will do an internship (minimum three months). With their graduation, students become part of CIFE’s wide Alumni network.

This graduate programme is aimed at students who have already completed a first degree (minimum three years of study at university level). Furthermore, students must have an active knowledge of English and French. Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded two certifications at the end of the academic year:

Regular tuitions fees for the Master in Advanced European and International Studies - trilingual branch are 9 500 €. They include: all the costs related to the application (processing of the application, administration of the students' file) and the academic services, the accommodation in Canterbury and Berlin, the travel expenses to reach the different locations of the programme, the study-trip to the European institutions and international organisations, costs for the access to documentation centres and libraries. Please note that the tuition fees do NOT include general living expenses (e.g. meals, others) and the accomodation in Nice.

A limited number of tuition fee scholarships can be awarded to particularly qualified students.
The funds available are intended to cover the expenses for living and studying. The request for a scholarship can be sent using the online application form and by uploading the supporting documents. It will be then evaluated by the Academic Board once the candidate is accepted into the programme.
