The Batthyány Summer School in Hungary will take place in Győr. The course deals with the political situation of Central Europe and Hungary in particular.
The third summer school of the Batthyany Lajos College offers a forum for thinking together and discussion for young people coming from Europe. We are waiting for young students under 30 to apply from all over Europe, but the Central-European region (including Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and the Balkans) is preferred. Noted lecturers, experts and professors help to discuss the legal, political, economic and cultural aspects of the EU accession, taking into special consideration the situation of Central-Europe, the new member states and their neighbors, the transition to the rule of law and the regional cooperation. The Summer School will also include cultural events and trips to historical places of Hungary.
The honorary patronage of the summer school is professor Mihály Bihari, the President of the Hungarian Constitutional Court.
The Batthyany Lajos College was founded in 2002. The College provides its educational program for the best law students in Győr. As the consequence of the professional and social work, our College has become the most important legal and cultural workshop in the Western-Hungarian region.
The Summer School is situated in Hungary's western regional-centre: in Győr. The youngest university of Hungary full of ambitions is a part of the Győr-Bratislava-Vienna "golden triangle" - with impressive development, international companies, offering noteworthy places for tourism as well. Ideal location for european young people to meet each other.
The hosting university, the Széchenyi István University in Hungary offers the accomodation and the lecture-rooms. The campus is situated at the "Révfalu" district of Győr, which is garden-suburb-like part of the town, with pleasing surroundings of the Danube-river. The accomodation, the restaurant and the lecture rooms - in the neighbourhood of the historical city center - are within a 5 minutes walk.
