Conference venue: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Period: September 17-19, 2015
Deadline for submitting abstracts: February 28, 2015
This workshop will be concerned with the role of the audiovisual in the production of transcultural memory in Europe. Such audiovisual media are among the most pervasive and powerful media to archive and construct memory in Europe today. Our aim is to understand the audiovisual as a medium of memory that operates in and across different platforms (such as cinema, television, internet, museums). Papers (of ca 20 mins.) are welcome which show how audiovisual memory negotiates cultural and national boundaries in Europe.
Proposals for papers should contain a title and a brief summary (100 words). Proposals for panels (of 2 or 3 papers) are also welcome.
For those applicants who are not COST MCs: This working group has access to funding for a limited number of external speakers (airfare, hotel, a flatrate for meals). Please indicate in your proposal if you need such funding to come to Dubrovnik. Please, submit proposals to: Astrid Erll erll@em.uni--frankfurt.de, AnnRigney a.rigney@uu.nl.
