International Conference "Self Determination And Sovereignty. The Historical Itinerary of Eastern Europe Among Past Legacies, Socialist Federations, State Dissolutions and the EU External Role"

Program

Jointly organised by the University of Bologna together with the Istituto per l'Europa Centro-Orientale e Balcanica, the international conference "Self Determination And Sovereignty. The Historical Itinerary of Eastern Europe Among Past Legacies, Socialist Federations, State Dissolutions and the EU External Role" will take place in the City Hall of the Municipality of Forlì next June 28th and 29th.

Making part of the activities of a research project sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, the conference is designed in two sessions. The first one will be focused on historical heritage and self-determination in the 20th Century perspective; while the second one will be devoted to the European Integration as a new opportunity for reformulating the concepts and the political procedures of self-determination and sovereignty after the Cold War.

The papers which will be presented during the conference by Italian scholars will cover a great variety of issues among which national minorities and nationalities issues in Russia and the ex-Soviet space.

The Conference will take place in the City Hall of the Municipality of Forlì, Via delle Torri 13.
