Internships at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI)

Description of the interniships

The Istituto Affari Internazionali (Institute for International Affairs, IAI) is looking for students enrolled in Italian second cycle degree courses (Laurea Magistrale or Specialistica) interested in doing an internship at the Institute.  Interships will last three months and will be based in Rome.
Interns will be employed part-time and will be involved in research activities within the Institute and the Security and Defense programme. The candidate will be asked to conduct research on different souces (web, scientific journals, press, official documents) and provide summaries that will be useful to the internal work of the Institute. The intern will be asked to review a book of his/her choice. The review will be published in the English-language magazine of the Institute, The International Spectator. Intern can also collaborate with the online magazine of IAI (AffariInternazionali.it). Beyond research activities, practical tasks (translations, archive) can be assigned to the intern. He/She will also be able to attend conferences and seminars organized by the Institute.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in second cycle degree courses (Laurea Magistrale or Specialistica) in Political Sciences, Law, Economics, International Relations can apply. Candidates must be interested in security and defense from a legal/institutional or economic/industrial perspective. They must have a thorough knowledge of the English language, written and spoken, the ability to draft texts in Italian, and basic informatic knowledge (web, Office).
