Description of the dissertation fellowship

The Istituto Affari Internazionali (Institute for International Affairs, IAI) is looking for a Master's student willing to carry out research at the Institute from October 2012 until March 2013. The Institute offers a dissertation fellowship of 8.000 €. This initiative forms part of the programme "Sicurezza e Difesa" (Security and Defense) directed bt Michele Nones. Proposed dissertations should address issues of security and defense, and more specifically one of the following aspects: economics/finance; industry/technology; strategy/military; politics/institutions.
The successful candidate will conduct his research at the Institute, which will make available all the necessary resources. The student will also participate to a variety of activities organized by the Institute, mainly related to security and defense. After six months, the successful candidate will have to provide a dissertation and the Institute will decide whether to include it in one of its publications. Eligibility

Only students of Laurea Magistrale or Specialistica (second cylce degree in Italy) who have not more than two exams left can apply for this dissertation fellowship.

Guidelines for application

Interested students should apply directly at IAI at the following e-mail address: placement@iai.it. Applications should include a dissertation proposal, a Curriculum Vitae and a list of exams taken and marks obtained.
Shorlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview in Rome by the end of July 2012.
