Description of the Research Fellowships

Five research fellowships are available at City University London. The University aims at enhancing its research potential and becoming a leading global academic institution through the investment of a great amount of resources in research, information systems and its estate.

The postdoctoral research fellowship positions will be appointed in the Cass Business School, the School of Arts and Social Sciences, the School of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences and Informatics, the School of Health Sciences and the City Law School, for a total of five fellowships available.

Research fellowship position are full-time, fixed-term for two years.
Successful candidates are expected to contribute to research within City University London, undertake original work and publish their findings. Research fellows can also be employed for teaching for no more than six hours per week.

Eligibility

Research fellowships at City University London are aimed at doctoral students who are about to finish their PhD or young researchers within 3 years of finishing their PhD who able to demonstrate strong academic potential through publication.
Potential candidates who do not have a PhD and/or are newly developing a research career and who can demonstrate that they meet the appointment criteria are also welcome to apply.

Application Procedure

Candidates are invited to submit a research proposal in one of the research areas of the departments listed above. The research proposal must be no longer than 1000 words. It should clearly state the proposed research and include a strategy for publication. Candidates are advised to make informal contact with the relevant School before submitting their application, in order to establish whether their proposal fits within the research expertise of the School.
