Russian Summer School in Chorley

Venue: Chorley (UK)
Period: Jul. 22-27, 2012

The Russian Summer School in Chorley is a great opportunity to practise your language skills with experienced and supportive tutors.  The course will focus on communicating in the target language, consolidating aspects of the language previously learned and encouraging to use newly acquired skills as much as possible throughout the course. Tutors achieve these aims by offering a varied diet of activities and inputs during the official seminar sessions and by encouraging students to use the language outside the sessions so that you are 'immersed' in the language as much as possible throughout your stay. Participants will have a team of tutors to provide as much variety of approach and accent as possible.

The focus of the course will be on developing the four key skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The course encourages learning in the classic environment of a classroom as well as in other, informal, ways. In the evenings there will be a variety of activities and guest speakers to consolidate learning in a more relaxed atmosphere. There will be great emphasis on interaction, pair or group work including role-play, listening and reading comprehension exercises and discussion around key vocabulary.
After attending the Russian Summer School, participants will have increased confidence when interacting in the target language. They will also broaden their vocabulary and gain a better insight into the culture of Russia.

The course fee for the Russian Summer School in Chorley is £ 525 with accomodation and board or £ 425 (non residential).

How to apply to the Summer School

Eligibility

Each participant must provide information about his/her level and experience in the study of Russian language. This will ensure that each student is placed in the most appropriate group. Groups are ideally composed of about twelve people. During the course, those who feel that their group placement is not appropriate can be reassigned to another, more suitable, level. The Russian Summer School does not accept applications from absolute beginners.
