On March 30, 2012, the Institute of Musical Research of the University of London organizes a conference on the composer György Sándor Ligeti in Chancellor’s Hall at Senate House, London.
Speakers will include: Prof Richard Steinitz (Key Note Speaker), Prof. Jane Clendinning, Prof. Peter Wiegold, Dr Amy Bauer, Dr. Wolfgang Marx, Dr John Cucuirean, Dr. Stephen Taylor and Dr Mike Searby.
Ian Pace will be giving a lecture recital on Ligeti's Piano Etudes, playing: Fanfares, Arc-en-ciel, Automne à Varsovie, Galamb boring, Fém, Vertige, En suspens, L'escalier du diable.
Prof Peter Wiegold will be running a parallel analysis workshop for student composers on Ligeti's music. If you wish to attend the latter session with Prof. Wiegold, please indicate on the booking form.
