Gathering all the members of the association, the V Congress of the Association of Italian Slavists (AIS) was held in Faenza from the 22 to the 24 September 2011.
Consisting of nine sessions, four panels and two round tables the Congress focussed on “Boundaries, separation and integration processes in the Slavic world of history, culture, languages and literatures”. It was sponsored by the Center for Central-Eastern and Balkan Europe and the Association of Italian Russianists.
Persida Lazarević Di Giacomo, professor at the University of Chieti-Pescara "G. D'Annunzio" and one of the members of the Executive Board of the AIS, wrote down a report on the Congress.
