This scholarship program is open to young diplomats and civil servants from the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Estonian School for Diplomacy offers 60 ECTS training course “International Relations and European Integration” starting on 12th September 2011 and finishing on 31st May 2012. Successful graduates receive the ESD Diploma together with the Academic Record.
Scholarship covers all expenses in Estonia related to participation in the training course: Tuition fee, monthly allowance (450 EUR), accommodation in apartment in Tallinn city center (incl. heating, water, electricty, internet connection), health insurance and visa/residence permit costs.
The person applying for the scholarship must:
- hold Armenian / Azerbaijan / Georgian / Moldovan or Ukrainian citizenship,
- not be older than 35 years (when applying),
- be currently employed by the Armenian foreign, including EU-related, or other civil services with international outreach; or is affiliated within International Relations discipline in public institution (state university, research institute, think tank), and has been employed there at least one year.
- have very good command of English (speaking, reading, writing and listening skills are required on the level of upper intermediate or advanced),
- be highly motivated to learn about international relations and related disciplines. Priority will be given for the candidates strongly motivated to continue their professional careers within the field of IR/foreign policy/diplomacy.
is hard working, co-operative and ready for intercultural team work.
The applicant should present:
- ESD application form (downloadable here),
- CV in English
- copies of university transcript in (unofficial) English translation, i.e. diploma of higher education and academic record
- copy of (international) passport,
- 1 passport-sized photograph.
- essay (3-4 pages, 1.5 line space, Times New Roman) written on one of the topics below:
1. Is Authoritarianism Today More Legitimate than Ever Before?
2. Political Implications of the Global Economic Crisis
3. Environmental Disasters - Perceptions and International Politics
