Description of the Conference
This conference will re-visit twentieth century history, by examining a broad range of topics. The topics include evolutions in military technology, the Versailles Crisis and international relations during the Frist World War. Taking place in October, the conference will be hosted by Saint-Petersburg State University School of International Relations.
Eligible topics for the conference
- International Relations during First World War
- First World War and national ideas
- Evolution of the military technology, weaponry and military strategy during First World War
- The problems of peace and war in European social discourse
- The problems of formation and consolidation of the Versailles international system
- The Great Powers and Versailles: the winners and the defeated
- Russia / USSR and the Versailles system: the problems of interaction
- The Versailles system crisis
- The lessons of Versailles
Guidelines for submission
Application for participation should include the following information:
- Name of the Participant
- Topic and a draft of the paper to be presented (200 words maximum)
- Brief CV
- e-mail address and phone number,
- A need of visa and accommodation support
