Published by the Association for International Affairs, a leading Prague-based think tank and research institute, the Review’s home page may be accessed from www.eu-review.com. Selected papers will also be published in a printed version of the European Union External Affairs Review.
The Review welcomes research articles from scholars, practitioners in international relations, and other experts from all around the world who are involved in various academic disciplines and with interest and expertise in the European Union’s external affairs. Postgraduate students and early-career scholars are especially encouraged to submit the results of their research work.
Papers for publication in the European Union External Affairs Review are selected through rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure their originality, relevance, readability, and timeliness as well as to generally maintain the Review’s high academic standard.

- EU’s role in international affairs - theoretical and empirical perspectives
- EU relations with third countries, international institutions and non-state actors
- EU political economy and foreign trade relations
- EU human rights and development policy
- EU global governance
- EU security and defence policy
- EU decision-making within the CFSP framework
Thematic Specialization
European Union External Affairs Review considers all aspects and dimensions of the European Union’s relations with the rest of the world. It focuses on the political/geopolitical, security, social, economic, and legal aspects of the EU's foreign policy – hence serving as an interdisciplinary platform for new thinking and groundbreaking ideas about different issues which are of relevance to the European Union’s external relations with its international partners (any third state, international institution or non-state actor).
Working on the "cutting edge" of EU foreign policy-making, the European Union External Affairs Review aspires to provide its readers with the latest developments in strategic thinking among the EU foreign policy-making elites. The Review concurrently aims to offer analysis on the EU’s global policy agenda while seeking to stimulate the much needed debate on different policy/security challenges facing Europe. To achieve these objectives, the journal is designed as a meeting-point where academics, practitioners, and other experts from different corners of the globe exchange their respective views, thus cross-fertilizing their perspectives and ideas of the EU’s role in the contemporary world.
European Union External Affairs Review aspires at meeting the needs of both the academic community and the practitioners/policy-makers in international relations, as well as informed citizens and stakeholders within civil society, media, academia, business and government in that it provides a public forum, a premier ideas platform for the discussion about the present state and future development of European foreign policy interests and strategies.
