Evrodijalog has been a publishing challenge for many university professors, practitioners and researchers from the country and beyond. It has been published in 12 issues with over 100 articles from authors coming from various academic and professional backgrounds.
The articles for Evrodijalog are selected on a competitive basis. Twice a year CRPRC Studiorum publishes calls for papers, which are disseminated through CRPRC Studiorum’s academic and professional networks, and through our website. Through these calls “Evrodijalog aims to attract papers, analyses, opinions and forecasts focusing on various EU issues in the field of law, economy, public administration, international relations, political sciences, communication, new technologies and society, energy, environment, health, etc.
Evrodijalog has a long history of existence. Its present form is a continuation of the Theoretical Journal Dijalog [Dialogue], first published in 1972 by Studentski Zbor, publishing house of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”.
The preface of Dijalog outlines the mission of the journal: It states that Dijalog aims to serve as a tool for expressing and participating in the inter-relatedness and inter-connectedness of knowledge, critique, and openness in the society among the individuals and inside of it, and beyond. Dijalog identifies the need of opening the university strata towards both the outside world and towards other universities.
The journal continued its existence after the fall of communism in 1992, marking its new start with a new format yet same concept, publishing 14 issues. Given the new European context and accession process currently underway in the country, the journal re-branded itself in Evrodijalog in 2002. Receiving a grant from the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), Evrodijalog published its issues one to four and held series of debates to discuss the papers. Debates were held before and after the publication of each issue. For the subsequent issues, funding was also received from the General Secretariat of the Government of Macedonia, Agency for Information of the Republic of Macedonia and donor agencies. Through the debates and the continuation of printed issues, a vivid discussion process on EU-integration topics was initiated.
The website is a platform for presenting the articles published in the hard copy of the journal. As the hard copy edition is only in a limited circulation, the online version of Evrodijalog aims to make these articles available to a wider audience on both Macedonian and English languages. This online platform also serves as a permanent database for the journal. Considering the wide range of profiles of published authors, the Evrodijalog website can freely be considered as database of ideas from Macedonian academics and practitioners, and from foreign academics who have published their work in the journal.
The website also has sections on resource papers and events. The resource paper section is reserved for authors whose papers are of limited interest to the Evrodijalog audience, but the Editorial Board found them to be interesting and useful for wider public. By this, the online edition offers a space for younger and less experience authors and for exchange of resources among the readers.
All Evrodijalog articles are published in Macedonian language with an abstract provided in English, and can be downloaded in .pdf format free of charge from Evrodijalog website. The journal is also available through the following electronic databases: Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) and the Policy Documentation Centre.
