The topic is focused on the use of the mythical aspects of the Serb national identity in scientific, political and publication industry discourse, as well as their importance, attraction and “echoes” in everyday life of the citizens of Serbia. This topic received particular attention in the last decade of the 20th century when the liberated national discourse used mythical motives to legitimize the national political programs. The characteristics of the use of the mythical elements in this time period was reflected in a unique mixture of discourse – mythical, literary, scientific and political - where the motives spilled from one region to another without changing the meaning and the systematic place.
