The course has the following aims:
- to acquire linguistic, cultural, economic and legal knowledge of the Balkan-Adriatic-Danubian area (B.A.D.), in this case Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia;
- to educate new professionals capable of mediating in the economic, social and scientific-cultural fields between Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Italy, and specifically the region of Abruzzo, as part of trans-border, trans-national and interregional cooperation and development; and
- to obtain useful competencies in the field of Euro-planning: identifying European financing channels, promoting and facilitating business and cultural exchanges between Italy and Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia, consultancy on designing and implementing partnership projects between Italian parties and institutions and equivalent organizations in the Balkan-Adriatic-Danubian Euroregion.
The course entails 160 hours of lectures divided into modules. Instruction will be conducted in:
- traditional lectures for a total of hours corresponding to 25 CFUs;
- a project or report to be carried out at the same time as the coursework for a total of 5 CFUs.
The course consists of the following modules:
o B/C/M/S (Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian) language;
o Culture of the Balkan-Adriatic-Danubian area (B.A.D.);
o Intercultural Mediation between the B.A.D. area and Italy;
o Euro-planning;
o Italy’s role in the economies of the B.A.D. region;
o Legal aspects of cooperation between Italy and the B.A.D. Euro-region.
Attendance is obligatory and students may not miss more than 30% of lesson hours.
At the end of the course participants who have completed the tasks and fulfilled the requirements will be issued a certificate attesting to their acquired competencies with the corresponding credits, which may be applied in fields of employment as requested.
The certificate can be used to complete a university Master’s degree at the first or second level as well as Master’s degree courses containing coursework that is similar to the modules entailed in the Specialized Course, in fulfilment of individual course requirements.
Participants will have to pay a tuition fee of € 600.00, divided into two instalments.
