Description: Founded in 1951 as the Higher Agricultural Institute, it was renamed the Agricultural University of Tirana in 1991. AUT offers graduate and undergraduate programs in fields related to agriculture and food. The university has approximately 15000 students and has a large teaching staff with 55 full-time professors. AUT is an active research institution, and has conducted research in collaboration with the Albanian government, the World Bank, and NATO, among other organizations.
