Study visit of the MIREES class of 2012 to the European Institutions in Brussels

On April 6-8, 2010, the students class of 2012 of the Master of Arts in "Interdisciplinary Research and Studies on Eastern Europe" (MIREES) of the University of Bologna (Forlì Campus) visited the European Institutions and NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Led by Prof. Stefano Bianchini, the Scientific Director of the MIREES programme, on April 6th the group visited the DG Enlargment of the European Commission. On the following day in the morning they were welcome by Mr Vittorio Prodi at the premises of the European Parliament, whereas in the afternoon they met some representatives of the Emilia-Romagna Region - Brussels Office. 
Then a round table on "The European Parliament and EU challenges ahead: member states integration, enlargement or both?" took place, where Mr. Prodi and Prof. Bianchini discussed the topic of EU enlargement with Mr Leonidas Donskis (Lithuanian MEP for the group ALDE), Mr György Schöpflin (Hungarian MEP for the group PPE) and Mr Andrea Mogni (European Commission, DG Relex).   
On April 8, the MIREES group concluded its stay in Brussels with a visit to NATO Headquarters.
