Venue: Rome (Italy)
Period: May 4, 2010
The conference aims to analyse the relationship between Turkey and its neighbors.
In contrast to Turkey's role towards its neighbors during and in the immediate aftermath of the Cold War, the activism of the country during the last years has a different nature. At present Turkey is seen as a central country in the midst of Afro-Eurasia which encourages bilateral and multilateral external relations with its neighbors. Today, in fact, Turkey is trying to become a strong regional and global actor through the excercise of soft power. In this context the purpose of the conference is to verify the results of Turkey's efforts in the last years.
