Goodbye Great Mother Russia

On April 13, 2010, the Italian newspaper Il sole 24 Ore published an article written by Moisés Naím, a Venezuelan writer and economist. Translated into Italian by Graziella Filipuzzi, the article offers an interesting insight on Russia's grandeur analyzing Russia's international role and influence. Despite its past status as a super-power, its territorial dimensions, its nuclear arsenal and its "hegemony" as oil and gas supplier, as far as a decisive role in international affairs is concerned the author foresees a future trend of decline for the country.
