After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the civil society has assumed great importance because of its fundamental role in the process of democratisation of illiberal regimes and reconciliation of divided societies after the war.
In this context, the workshop aims to explores the question of the importance of civil society, considering not only its beneficial effects a priori but also its limits, relatively to the transitional processes in the Western Balkans.
