The Biological Farming Association ELKANA is a non-governmental Georgian organization founded in August 1994. Since 1996 Elkana has been a member of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
The association unites member farmers from different regions of Georgia and its main purpose is the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the Georgian population and the environmental protection through encouraging the development of sustainable organic farming and enhancing the awareness of the rural population.
In order to achieve its aims, ELKANA provides to farmers assistance about several topics such as conversion to organic farming, business planning, consultations on marketing issues, and also training and workshops in the field of organic farming and in other fields relating to agriculture.
