European Movement in Latvia

The European Movement in Latvia (EML) is one of the biggest NGOs in the political field in Latvia and it is part of the NGO European Movement, that covers almost all of Europe. 
 
The main office is located in Riga and the organization has about 700 members and eleven regional branches throughout Latvia.

The main purposes of EML are, on the one hand, to promote EU information and participation in EU affairs and, on the other hand, to act as a supervisor on EU affairs towards the decision makers. The main activities are conferences, seminars, street actions and Europe week.

EML cooperates with several NGOs and also with EU bodies in Latvia such as the EU Information Agency, Foreign Ministry, European Commission Representation, European Parliament Information Bureau and others.
