Human Rights Internship

The internship

Graduates of master's and LLM programmes in the fields of social sciences, law, humanities have he opportunity to gain research experience in the field of human rights, government accountability, or penal reform.

Successful candidates will work in one of the leading human rights and accountability advocacy organizations in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, receiving a locally determined stipend. Internships last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the research topic and scope.

The Open Society Institute will support up to 10 internships.

Interested people have to contact potential hosting NGO where they most wish to work no later than August 31, 2009. See the the list of participating NGOs.

The selection process will be driven by host organizations. After negotiations between the candidate and the host organization concerning the research topic, duration, and financial conditions of the internship, a joint application from the candidate and the host organization must be submitted to the Human Rights and Governance Grants Program by October 1, 2009.
