Description: The Regional Development and Policy Research Unit was established in 1995, following an initiative by Prof. Lois Labrianidis. It operates as an informal research unit in the Department of Economics, University of Macedonia. Its research activity is regulated by the principles and administrative procedures of the University’s Research Committee. By bringing together researchers from a diversity of backgrounds (economics, geography, regional planning, statistics, politics, engineering, etc.), RDPRU promotes a multidisciplinary approach. The main research interests of the Unit focus on issues of economic geography and regional policies.
