The Ark of Europe: Time for Strategic Knowledge

Venue: La Valletta (Malta)
Period: Aug. 1-18, 2009

The summer school

The programme focusses on issues related to the future of Europe: international security, future economy, identity and its perception, dialogue between cultures and civilizations, European culture, problems and prospects of information society, innovation and new technologies. Lectures, seminars and workshops will be delivered by professors, politicians, businessmen and journalists from different countries and universities.

Besides lectures, Guest lectures, seminars and consultations, didactic activities will be scheduled to focus three specific topics:

  • Security issues (Aug. 3-7, 2009)
  • UN Millennium Goals (Aug. 8-12, 2009)
  • New Technologies and Innovations (Aug. 13-16, 2009)
 

The participants who successfully complete the programme will receive an attendance certificate yelding 6 ECTS.

Besides didactic activities, the programme includes social and cultural activities, as well as field trip and excursions.

Eligibility and costs

Bachelor, master, and PhD students of different background who have at least an intermediate knowledge of English language can apply to participate in the programme. Application forms and requested documents should be sumbmitted no later than July 1st, 2009.

The participation fee is 4.750,00 Euros, including tuition, trips and social programmes, medical assurance, visa fee, handouts and participant’s kit, sports, parties, visits, boat trip around Malta, certification, and full-board accommodation in a 5 stars Hotel.
The participation fee for those who do not want to live in a luxury hotel will be reduced to approximately 2.950,00 Euros.
