Dealing with the Past and Reconciliation Processes in the Western Balkans

In cooperation with the Center for European Integration Strategies and the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe, the Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso organises the conference “Dealing with the Past and Reconciliation Processes in the Western Balkans” in Vienna. The topics analysed and deepened by the event are memory and conflict elaboration.
To participate, you need to register online; there is no registration fee, whereas travel, meals and accommodation expenses are at the participants’ own charge.

The conference is divided into two days: on Monday, Novembre 10 internationally known speakers will debate about “Dealing with the Past and Reconciliation Processes in the Western Balkans”; on Tuesday, November 11 journalists of independent media from the countries of SouthEastern Europe will analyse the role of the media in the reconciliation process during the round table “The role of the media in the reconciliation processes in the Western Balkans”.

After the round table, the documentary movie Vukovar – Final Cut (produced by Janko Baljak and script by Dragutin Hedl), awarded with the Human Rights Award at the 12th Sarajevo Festival.
