Venue: Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA)
Period: April 16-17, 2009
In occasion of the Second Annual Russia/Eurasia Forum the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, in collaboration with the Harriman Institute, is organizing the conference "A Globalizing Russia?"
Globalization is taking place in a myriad of sectors including culture, business and energy, the environment and public health, security, telecommunications and the internet, human rights, and migration. The forum will therefore examine such vexing questions as: is Russia itself globalizing, and if so, how and why? Is this a phenomenon of leadership policy, citizen behaviour, or underlying social forces? As a result of these trends, will Russia become more integrated with the rest of the world, or will it endeavour to forge its own path?
Businesspeople, policymakers, scholars of Eurasia, and the interested public alike are invited to participate to the forum to get a better understanding of how Russia is responding to globalisation.
