The master's curriculum stresses on interdisciplinary studies in the economics of transition; politics and international relations; history and cultural studies focused on Central, Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
The aim of this seminar is to gather doctoral and postdoctoral students to represent their individual researches. With this seminar we hope to foster interdisciplinary dialogues between those researching gender in different fields of (post)Soviet and (post)Socialists aesthetics with a view to establishing international collaborations in the future between researchers.

The Tartu Conference is a venue for academic discussion of the fundamental cultural, social, economic and political trends affecting all aspects of people’s life in Russia and Eastern Europe. The First Tartu Conference, held in June 2016, brought together more than 200 scholars from across multiple disciplines, from the region and beyond.
On the 29th of October 2016, at the premises of the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo took place the 15th anniversary graduation Ceremony of the European Regional Master’s in Human Rights and Democracy in South East Europe. Widely known simply with its acronym, ERMA is a double degree programme by University of Sarajevo (CIS) and the University of Bologna (through the Institute for Central Eastern and Balkan Europe IECOB), co-financed by the European Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
