Climbing or just muddling through? Democratic transition in Ukraine

The Interdisciplinary Master's in East European Research and Studies (MIREES) organises a public lecture to investigate where Ukraine currently places itself in the process of transition towards democracy. Mykola Ryabchuk, the lecturer, comes from the Centre for European Studies at the University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy".
Following the presidential elections won by the West-oriented candidate Viktor Yushchenko, the conference is a great opportunity to debate directly with a Ukrainian speaker whether Ukraine has a real chance to become a real democracy or not .
