Specifically, PECOB provides information on the program, participants and location of festivals, debates, book presentations and all events that take place in Central Eastern and Balkan Europe or deal with this region. PECOB's Events may be of interest to academics, university students and the wider public.
Events currently advertised on PECOB include an international forum on persecutions carried out in Transnistria during the Second World War and a Festival that will take place in Bolzano with a rich program on Russian language, culture and society. The interdisciplinary "Baltic Studies Conference in Europe (CBSE)" is an opportunity to make contacts, gain insight into all subdivisions of humanitarian, social and media sciences regarding the three Baltic States - Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and to overcome traditional academic barrier and encourage academic cooperation.
The overriding theme of the whole week is "Creating the Good Society".

Which rules of conduct are required by international investors? Balticness - a new expression for the Baltic Sea spirit? The Halki International Seminars have been held annually since 1990 on the small island of Halki in the Aegean Sea (off the island of Rhodes). The primary purpose of the Halki International Seminars is to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences leading to greater understanding and forging links among young political and economic decision-makers, researchers, academics, journalists and other professionals interested in international affairs, while offering training packages on the processes of European integration and the building of civil societies.
Each year the network organises a public conference that will act as a major forum for the consortium. Aim of the conference is to assess the state of the art in one of three main topic identified under the project umbrella, promote research cooperation and discussion of results and suggest policy recommendations. In the wider framework of the network the conferences will also contribute to the discussion of the results from the other areas and mutually link their research efforts.
The Summit's plenary sessions deal with general and broad topics affecting the Baltic Sea Region. The thematic sessions in parallel give the participants the opportunity to choose the theme that fits their interests best. There are thematic sessions in parallel throughout the Summit.
