Call for Articles on International Affairs for the Journal "The Global Citizen"

Deadline for submitting full papers: November 1, 2013

Description

The Global Citizen is now accepting submissions for its Volume I: Issue 2 publication to be published in January 2014.
This Journal is devoted to publishing particularly exceptional work submitted by undergraduate students from all corners of the globe. The ultimate intent is to develop global citizens in the world: those that are well-versed about the ways that others perceive conflicts and broadening their horizon of how those in different cultural contexts view issues from a different viewpoint.

The Global Citizen is an independent student-run organization whose primary purpose is to provide one of the few venues in the world through which undergraduate students can publish exemplary work pertaining to contentious issues in international affairs. The Citizen is headquartered at Miami University of Ohio, where it is led by a student staff that makes all organizational and editorial decisions. With the advising of university faculty, the Citizen seeks to publish a journal of academic scholarship.

In addition to providing the international academic community with novel perspectives from the world’s brightest undergraduate scholars, the Citizen seeks to contribute to international scholarship in two addition ways. First, the Citizen is designed to (provide an alternative voice in the realm of research and academia and to serve) to be a useful research tool for academics and global scholars worldwide to broaden their opinion horizon. Second, the facilitation of the rigorous review process for the selection of exemplary pieces provides the student-led editing staff with an invaluable exercise to hone their editing skills.

Eligible topics

Interested authors from around the world are invited to submit original manuscripts done while at an accredited undergraduate institution that are closely related to the Journal’s five core focuses: Foreign Policy, International Business & Global Economy, Religion & Culture, Governmental Development and Social Justice.

The publication is looking for well-developed arguments that offer novel viewpoints that analyze contentious situations. The Journal’s focus is centered around contemporary topics in international affairs, but work focused on past events will also be accepted for review.

Eligibility

The works should be written by undergraduate students from any country, dealing with contemporary topics in international affairs. Essays focused on past events will be considered as well.
