Part-time Research Assistant - Russomania: British Modernism and the Translation of Russian Culture

Description of the Announcement

The Faculty of English Language and Literature seeks a research assistant to work, under the direction of Dr Rebecca Beasley (The Queen’s College), on a project entitled Russomania: British Modernism and the Translation of Russian Culture, which traces the transformative effect of Russian culture on literary and intellectual life during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The research assistant will work in collaboration with the PI part-time for a total of 247 hours between 1 January and 30 September 2016, ideally for approximately 1.5 days a week for 6 months. Applicants should have native-level fluency in the Russian language, and experience of academic research in Russian studies. The researcher must be based in the UK during their tenure of the post. The researcher will be affiliated to The Queen’s College and the Faculty of English, with access to shared office space in the Faculty of English.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 20 November 2015. Interviews will be held on Thursday 3 December 2015.
