European Culture

Program

The Conference "European Culture" is an international and multidisciplinary conference that fosters the dialogue between experienced teachers and young researchers, therefore accepting papers from PhD students. The dialogue between academics, experienced teachers and young researchers is at the core of the conference structure. Therefore, in line to the previous editions of the Conferences «European Culture», you are invited to enrich the Conference content with your paper which  will be included in the peer-review electronic Conference publication.
Within the framework of the Conference «European Culture» is not understood as a specific identity, but it encompasses all the cultural expressions manifested in Europe and in relation to other continents.

The Conference takes place every two years and is organised by the Conference «European Culture» was organized by the Charlemagne Institute of European Studies of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC). The Charlemagne Institute of European Studies was created in 2000 out of the need to establish an area dedicated to teaching, studies, research and dialogue about Europe in the University. The Conference it  was first organised every in 1990 hosted by the Centre for European Studies at the University of Navarra until its ninth edition in 2007. The Conference «European Culture» is organized in collaboration with the “European Culture” Jean Monnet Chair ad personam held by Enrique Banús with the financial support of the European Commission through the Jean Monnet Programme of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture.


How to participate to the Conference

The central component of the International Conference "European Culture" comprises of the academic papers presented and will eventually be included in the digital Conference Publication. The Call for Papers is now open http://www.uic.es/en/european-culture-papers
