Description of the Conference
The 2014 Conference on Baltic and Scandinavian Studies is hosted by Yale’s Baltic Studies Program and the European Studies Council at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale.
Eligible topics for the conference
The conference organizers invite SASS and AABS members to submit proposals that fit within the thematic streams selected for the conference.

- Stream 15: Baltic-Nordic Transnational Approaches and Perspectives
Participation in a stream is by no means required; if your paper does not fit into one of the streams please submit it anyway! Papers may appear at the conference on a panel not identified as part of a conference stream.
Guidelines for submission
Submissions for individual papers, poster board presentations, and panels and roundtables must be received by November 1, 2013. The conference program committee will send acceptance/rejection letters by December 16. Each paper presentation should be 15-20 minutes in length. All proposals must be submitted via the Yale Conference Services Web site.
Conference presenters may appear on the program no more than two times and may present no more than one paper. If you have questions about the conference or proposal content, please contact the conference co-chairs at baltic.scandinavian@yale.edu .
Membership is not required to SUBMIT a proposal. Once a proposal is accepted, the presenter must be a member of one of the organizations in order to PRESENT. For membership information click on the appropriate organization link AABS or SASS. Each person can submit a maximum of two proposals, and only one of each type. Only complete proposals will be considered.
Registration
Registration for the conference will begin on November 1 via the conference registration Web site. Early registration will continue through February 1, 2014. Presenters, panelists, and other participants will be asked to confirm their attendance by January 10.
